In a press release issued today, AIDA announced that 450 cruises from the AIDA Summer Program 2026 are now available for booking. A look at the calendar shows why it’s worth planning now. The early booking bonus of up to 300 euros per person is another reason to plan ahead.
Solar eclipse spectacle
The moon casts a shadow, too, but it casts it on the sun: the total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026, will darken the sky over Greenland, Iceland and Spain for about two minutes. Guests will be able to experience this rare natural spectacle up close on five AIDA ships. Starting on August 7, 2026, AIDAsol will sail from Hamburg through the English Channel and the Bay of Biscay in the direction of the eclipse. In the western Mediterranean, AIDAcosma and AIDAstella will be sailing out of Mallorca on August 7, 8 and 9, at the time of the solar eclipse. AIDAbella and AIDAluna will also offer eclipse cruises. These can be booked starting July 31, 2024.
Other natural phenomena can also be relied on in 2026: Every summer, the Perseids can be observed on clear days. In 2026, the shooting stars will appear between July 17 and August 24 – for example in the Baltic Sea region, where AIDAdiva will sail from Rostock/Warnemünde to the highlights of the Baltic coast. A brand-new addition to the Baltic program is Hamina on the Gulf of Finland. The fortified city was built in a circular layout. In the center is the town hall, from which the streets of the old town intersect with colorful houses, museums, churches, boutiques and cafés.
A chance to see the Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights, is offered on the “Autumnal Northern Lights” cruises of AIDAsol departing from Hamburg. The 14-day voyages include stops in Leknes and Bodø, the Lofoten Islands and Tromsø.
After Euro is before the World Cup
If you are already looking forward to the World Cup finals in two years time, mark your calendars for July 19. Although it is not yet known which teams will face each other, it is already clear that AIDAmar will meet Stockholm on the cruise “Cities of the Baltic Sea from Warnemünde 1” and AIDAsol will meet Portsmouth in England on the cruise “Great Britain & Ireland from Hamburg”. The kick-off for AIDAstella‘s voyage on the 10-day cruise “Spain, Portugal & Balearic Islands from Mallorca” is Palma de Mallorca in Spain on this memorable soccer day.
When the sun never sets
Midsummer’s Day is one of the most important holidays in the Nordic calendar, second only to Christmas. On June 21, the summer solstice is celebrated with traditional dances, flower decorations and good food. In the summer of 2026, eight AIDA ships will set sail from Hamburg, Kiel and Warnemünde on various northern routes – to the Baltic Sea, the fjords of Norway, Scotland and Iceland. A special highlight will be the AIDAprima voyages to the Norwegian fjords, including the Geirangerfjord and the Nærøyfjord. Both fjords are World Heritage Sites.
Summer, sun, vacation 2026: Easter and Pentecost
Spending your vacation at sea, being pampered and enjoying exquisite cuisine without having to stand in the kitchen – AIDA offers numerous opportunities to do just that. For the Easter holidays, for example, AIDAprima invites guests on an “Easter Voyage through the Mediterranean”. For Pentecost, AIDAblu‘s Greece cruises are enticing. Zakynthos and Bodrum will be added to the itinerary for the first time. The Greek island of Zakynthos is a true bathing paradise in the Ionian Sea. Bodrum in Turkey also offers excellent conditions for swimming and water sports as well as cultural treasures.
With AIDAcosma, AIDAstella and AIDAblu, three AIDA ships will be sailing the Mediterranean in the summer season, offering the full sunshine agenda. They sail along the Adriatic coast, to the Greek and Turkish islands, and to the Mediterranean pearls in the west.
